Pacem is the inner shell of an otherwise entirely unregarded mollusc. Small mollusc farms are kept in the canals and other freshwater byways of the Docklands, where harvesting them is considered children's chores. |

Cardinal- This igneous rock is mined in and around the Blast, making it rare and precious. Miners have a 10-week life expectancy on average, so in the Foothills it's sometimes known as Tenweek. |

Xanthic- The Xanthic beetle of the Plains is large, carapaced in a variety of oranges, and is completely harmless. The carapaces are traditonally emptied and then left in the sun for three days in order to dry. |

Lucent- about two hundred years ago there used to be a fashion for having lamps speckled with Lucent for the sunny light it gave, and larger pieces of this gem were carefully sliced to created vast flat columns of light. |

Verdigris- The stone found inside the skulls of toads remade by the Son of the Forge while he worked out how to make Ferros. As such, many Ferros regard them as distant kin and try to block the trade in Verdigris. |

Azure- A type of coral that grows around and beyond the Droplets, will bubble slightly if it comes into contact with lemon juice. Washed up in every sea storm, also harvested by divers during the summer. |

Duskin- There was once a plot against the Trickster, but he sent a poppet in his place, and when it was stabbed it dripped wine instead of blood. Amused, the Earth Mother turned the drops of wine into gems as they touched her. |

Patina- A sedementary rock washed up on beaches all over the Continent, and thus while a favourite offering to both the Ocean Daughter and the Trickster is not terribly valuable. |

Teneborus is a naturally occuring rock mined fairly freely among the veins of the Old Dynasty. As well as it's other virtues, it is much prized by alchemists for reasons only they understand. |

Numinous- For years this was assumed to be an impure form of Teneborus, until it was revealed it's actually a product of alchemical processes on the darker stone. Also serves as raw material for Nimbus. |

Nimbus- This stone as only appeared in the last fifty or so years, and is the result of further alchemical processes, so Nimbus is in fact a super-purified form of Teneborus. As a result, it is both exceptionally rare and highly prized. |

Ochre- despite sometmes being mistaken for the more common clay, is actually a petrified form of a great tree no longer extant. Only three such examples of this tree have ever been found, but then their petrified remains do spread all over the South. |
